Perfect Code is Not a Perfect Product

Lukas, pointing upwards with a smile against a blue background.

I made a mistake for years, and didn’t even realise it.

I was obsessed with creating the best software out there.

• Clean code
• Optimised performance
• Well-structured architecture

I took pride in it.

But I was missing something huge: The big picture.

You might think:

“Wait, isn’t great software the goal?”

Yes, but it’s not only about the software.

When you build embedded systems, the software is just one part of the product.

Clients hire us, not just for the perfect code, but for a product that solves a real problem.

In the end, it needs to work, be useful, and actually sell.

This realisation has transformed my perspective.

I no longer write software for me.

I build systems:

• For the client.
• For the market.
• For the end user.

It’s not about “the best software.”

It’s about the right software.

So, how do I build differently now?
